The Foresight Design Initiative takes action and fosters dialog on sustainable innovation in Chicago. It undertakes both its own programs, such as the Chicago Sustainable Business Alliance, Chicago Green Drinks, and Urban Sustainable Design Studio, and consults on the development of others with a range of partners. Foresight views Design as a systematic approach to problem-solving that applies not only to traditional design fields, like graphics and architecture, but to business and policymaking. Through its diverse activities, the organization engages the general public, business and government to build community, educate and take action to sustain and improve the quality of life without sacrificing the needs of future generations.

A moderated, central source for information about sustainability-related events, jobs, and issues relevant to the Chicagoland area, including announcements of upcoming Chicago Green Drinks, Foresight's email lists includes many of the most sustainability minded people and businesses in the area. Volume is kept to a minimum; most items are compiled into the biweekly e-newsletter. Foresight's popular monthly gathering for anyone interested in sustainability issues, Green Drinks has become the de facto hub of "green" Chicago. Held twice a month in two flavors, Classic and Business Edition.
CAREERS: Sustainable Careers Workshops
Held on a regular basis, Foresight's Sustainable Careers Workshops address issues associated with researching, applying for, and securing a sustainability-related career.
