SUSTAINABLE CAREERS WORKSHOP
Developed by popular demand, and led by some of Chicago's leading sustainability professionals, Foresight's Sustainable Careers Workshop is intended to provide an overview of the information needed to enter this dynamic and burgeoning field. Groups for the two-hour sessions are kept intentionally small in order to facilitate questions and discussion. Classes are offered for those who are early in their professional lives and those further along and are considering a transition. While the material for each is similiar, this separation affords participants a better chance to learn from one another.

The workshop includes sections on:

  1. Saving the World (From Itself): The What & Why of Sustainability
  2. Mirror, Mirror: The Importance of a Self Assessment (and Tips on Doing One)
  3. Finding Your Place: Types of Sustainability Careers
  4. Knowing What to Know: Degrees & Skill Sets for Sustainability
  5. The Psychology of Hiring: And What You Can Do About It
  6. Foot Meet Door: Networking and Informational Interviews
  7. Carpe Diem: Your Next Steps

Participants are also provided with a several handouts that include supporting materials and a variety of relevant key resources.

Sessions are generally held twice a month. Note: these workshops tend to sell out quickly. In order to secure a place, you are encouraged to register sooner rather than later.
