A consulting service that helps local businesses and non-profits improve the environmental impact of their office activities, thereby creating demand for eco-sensitive office solutions. Not only are clients educated about the environmental impact of office activities, and their greener alternatives, but the program provides an important educational function for the students interns who assist in running it.

The consulting service will perform eco-office audits, providing access to information and immediately implementable recommendations regarding waste stream, energy efficiency, toxics/indoor air quality, and other office-related issues.

While there are many sustainability consulting services available for larger firms that have the time and capital for such investments, there are few models for eco-office consulting services targeted at small to medium sized businesses, which operate in an entirely different fiscal environment. One existing service is Great Forest, a NY-based company that manages clients’ waste and recycling, and provides energy consulting, waste brokerage, and ISO 14001 compliance services.
