Foresight Focus

An evolving group of specialized experiences, Focus programs provide an intensive, in-depth look at the latest developments in a particular city or field. Past study trips, for example, have provided an insightful comparison of sustainability initiatives in Chicago and Amsterdam. Another explored climate change-related innovation in Vancouver, B.C., through visits and sessions with leading organizations and practitioners in that city.

Several programs are under development for 2012, including an investigation of Detroit (How Does a City Shrink Smartly?); a two-week intensive on Sustainable Urbanism in conjunction with a renowned architect and planner; and a social venture bootcamp with a well-known social entrepreneur.
