Topic
Building Deconstruction and Materials Re-Use; Policy and Practical Matters

The Building Material Reuse Association's DECON '09 Conference this April brings together those who deconstruct and recycle buildings and structures around the US, and around the world. They will share ideas and best practices, as well as methods for creating sustainable businesses that facilitate re-use of materials. DECON '09 will offer over 40 sessions on many topics (urban policy, design with used materials, grading salvaged lumber, green jobs, on-site management of materials).

The conference will run Tuesday April 28th to Thursday April 30th, with additional education sessions on Friday, May 1st. For those concerned with Green Building and Sustainability, DECON '09 is an opportunity to learn, to share information, and to integrate what works in their own lives and businesses.

The BMRA is now accepting abstracts for presentations to further define the DECON '09 agenda.

The new ReBuilding Exchange, open in February, is our newest local example of how this can work.
