The work you do feels important, and doing it well makes you feel very capable. Also, you meet amazing people and make business and personal connections.
L. Stewart

This is a good program if you’re interested in sustainability, but haven’t begun to make a proactive effort in that area yet. If you’re interested in design, it’s highly recommended, so you can see an important social context for the work you do.
G. Huling

It is an invaluable experience to all those who are curious in knowing what sustainability is all about. In addition to a deep dive into what it is all about, you get hands on experience and would be working with some of the biggest organizations in the city. You would know what their sustainability concerns are, how they are currently handling it and how they would like to address them in the future. In fact, you would be given a chance to influence their future.
G. Gottumukkala

It will help you better understand what sustainability means to you and understand the complexity of being part of the environmental movement. If you are thinking of going into environmental or non-profit sectors, it is an eye-opening and invaluable experience. The program helps you better understand the way the non-profit and business worlds function.
L. Einsel

This program will test your limits, both as a worker and as an individual. It changed my perspective on the everyday choices I make, and the impact I have on the spaces I live in.  I feel like a more responsibly-informed, ready-to-take action person.
A. Medress

This program is both a perfect introduction to sustainability as well as a continuation of understood concepts and methods in sustainable design. Tangible, actionable results are hard to come by academically; the best way to learn is through actions and examples, and this studio offers students real-world experiences in sustainable design.
A. Small

I would say that it’s a very compact and intensive program in which you get a really great introduction to the burgeoning sustainability movement in Chicago. Not only did I get many valuable work experiences, but I also made a great group of friends and developed a deep appreciation for the progressive city of Chicago. I would recommend this program to anyone considering a career in non-profit, sustainability or environmental activism or anyone who is looking to make incredible connections in Chicago.
